Call to Artists, Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2011, Painting Competition & Exhibition

Columbia Center for the Arts, located in the Columbia River Gorge —a National Scenic Area —is now accepting artist applications for its annual Pacific Northwest Plein Air event.
Now in its 7th year, Pacific Northwest Plein Air 2011, has grown each year both in size and in number of paintings sold.
Event Dates: August 25-October 2, 2011
Deadline: Applications are being accepted through Friday, 
June 17, 2011

Jim Lamb, 2011 Jurist
A Juried Art Event
Award-winning plein air painter and instructor, Jim Lamb will be the jurist this year. Jim is a respected member of the Plein Air Painters of America, a resident of the Pacific Northwest, and an exceptional judge for Plein Air painting. 

Prizes this year will include: 
1st Place  • 2nd Place  • 3rd Place Artists Choice • Best of Columbia River • Best of Historical • 2 Honorable Mention • People’s Choice Prize (details to be announced at a later date).

Plein Air 2011 
Event Overview
As in years past, artists will paint out for five days in five magnificent locations in the Columbia River Gorge. Paint Out dates are August 25 - 29, 2011.
A collectors Preview Party and Public Reception is planned for September 2. The exhibition will be on display from September 2 through October 2.
Any resident of the United States and Canada is eligible to apply. However, upon acceptance, artwork delivered to the exhibition must have been painted on location (in Plein Air) in the last two years in the Pacific Northwest.
